A Love Letter to Presence: A Wedding at the Carnegie Museum of Pittsburgh

As a wedding planner, there are some couples who leave a lasting impression—not just because of their style or the beauty of the venue, but because of the way they show up for each other. This particular couple, who exchanged vows at the Carnegie Museum of Pittsburgh, did just that. Their day was more than stunning—it was deeply intentional, present, and full of heart.

Before guests arrived, they shared a private first look outside of the incredible Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum in Oakland. It was here that they exchanged personal gifts, each a thoughtful nod to their very first date. I won’t give away the details, but I will say this: it was one of those rare, quiet moments that remind you exactly why weddings are so special. They weren’t just celebrating a beautiful day—they were celebrating the entire journey that brought them there.

Their ceremony took place in the breathtaking Hall of Sculpture, a space that feels both timeless and grand. With white marble columns bathed in soft natural light, the setting was a perfect reflection of the couple’s elegant taste and reverence for meaningful moments. From the moment they walked in, there was a palpable sense of calm and connection between them—as though the rest of the world had quietly faded away.

After the ceremony, guests transitioned to the Carnegie Music Hall Foyer for dinner and dancing. If you’ve never seen this space, imagine ornate gilded ceilings, sweeping staircases, and the kind of old-world charm that makes every guest feel like they’re attending a black-tie gala in a grand European palace. It was a truly magical backdrop for the rest of the evening.

But what made this reception truly remarkable was how intentionally the couple moved through it. We carved out time for the bride and groom to enjoy dinner privately before rejoining their guests—a quiet pocket of peace that allowed them to really savor the moment together. And then, in the middle of the night, they surprised everyone with a choreographed dance that brought the house down. It was joyful, personal, and full of character—just like them.

As I watched them laugh, twirl, and hold each other close throughout the night, it was clear: this was more than a wedding. It was a celebration of presence, partnership, and deep, unwavering love.

This day will stay with me for a long time, and I’m endlessly grateful to have been part of it.
